What is your most treasured memory of your time with First Baptist Church? Or, of all your experiences as part of the family of FBC, what stands out to you the most?

As part of our 150th anniversary celebration this fall, our communications co-directors are producing a “keepsake video” featuring as many members of our church family as possible answering this question in their own words. The goal and the hope is that many of you—adults, youth, and children alike—will share, in less than sixty seconds, a significant experience involving FBC that has settled in your memory and shaped your story.

If you’re thinking these memories need to be particularly “religious” or “spiritual” in nature, think more broadly. Your memory may just as well be of the time you got locked in the janitor’s closet playing “Sardines” during an all-night youth “lock-in” or of the time you struggled to hold back tears watching the dedication of your first grandchild in worship. In short, all memories are welcome!

How will this work? You’ll have two options to participate in this project (or to help your children become involved).

Option 1: Record a short video on your phone, tablet, or computer (less than a minute) sharing your favorite FBC memory and click here to upload it. If you have an iPhone you can also iMessage it to Greg Anders at 574-596-7459. All videos should be submitted by September 12.

Option 2: Greg Anders and Cindy Lindahl will be available at the church on Saturday, September 12, from 10am-12pm and 5:30pm-7:30pm. Drop by anytime in those timeframes and share your memory (less than a minute) on video.

After all video clips are received and edited (an effort will be made to include all clips), a composite video presentation will be made available to everyone in the church family. It will serve as a keepsake and a reminder of how much our 150 year-old church has meant to all of us, and how it continues to shape our shared experiences as one body in Christ.
